What Cycling Teaches Me By Hue Le – Part 1

In order to be success in life, we all must have to go through many different challenges; each of us will have our own lessons which we could learn from our own mistakes, from our working experience or from our favorite hobbies, sports, same to me. I learned so much from my favorite sport – cycling and my job: travel specialist and trip adviser.

Lesson No.1: Keep balance

I am sure, everyone would agree with me that, in order to be able to bike, we have to create the balance between our body and our bike; otherwise, we can not be able to ride. At the same time, we also need to balance our time, speed, distance, strengths, etc, to make sure that we will get to our final destinations as our plan. Like in life, in order to enjoy my life full fill, I always try to balance my working time and my leisure time, balance between my private life and  my professional life, to be honest, It is not always easy but its worth to practice and keep it in my first priority list.

Lesson No.2: love my bike – love my life

I got my first mountain bike ten years ago with no brand and I named it “Nguyên” which means “complete”, Nguyên is just very basic mountain bike(3 gears in front and 9 gears on the back), now I got myself different bikes with well-known brand and expensive one but I still ride Nguyên everyday, he is my favorite bike cause he was with me since beginning of my career til today, we passed through so many different challenges on the road, I learned so much about myself through him, he fit me very well, I feel great and very comfort when I am with him, he give me freedom, joy, peace and so much love, un-condition love, even thought, sometime I treat him so badly and forgot him for a while but he always there, give me his fully support and his 100%, he is my best friend, even thought he is bit old to me right now, sometime I got many troubles with him on the road cause I did not give him a good maintenance as he deserves, I guess, so what I learn from this is: it does not matter what bike I have, love it, treat him well, consider him as my good partner on the road, not my toy. Like in life, someday is good, someday is bad, someday is sunny, someday is rainy but that is life, I suppose, so I learn to enjoy good or bad days too, sunny or rainy are both very beautiful and also very different.

Lesson No.3: know my road, know my final destination; backup plan is must have

As a professional travel specialist and trip designer, I learned that to design cycling journeys to my travelers I need to learn and know the road very well, I must know every single corner of town, any back roads or connected road which also could lead our guest to our final destination as our wish, so we did a lot of research and I realize that back roads are the most beautiful roads, and back road is “must have” in our check list and our guide’s mind. Like in my business life, backup is must have and some of my backup bring me better effects and results than my A plan.
